942 crew members head to Texas to cheer on the Sun Devils

TEMPE, AZ (AZ Family) — It’s a big weekend for Sun Devil football as they head to Arlington, Texas, for the Big 12 Championship Game against Iowa State.

Many fans, including members of ASU’s 942nd team, travel to be a part of the championship game experience!

The 942 Crew is ASU’s spirit club that encourages as many students as possible to get excited about ASU athletics. Seniors Anthony Tulli and Ezekiel McNeil said they bought their tickets. during the BYU game and we are very happy that it was worth it.

“It’s been crazy,” Ezekiel said. “We just went on a whim, booked the flight and they are there. So when we got the news that they were leaving, we were like, ‘We can’t cancel them now.’

“Fans are fans through thick and thin, and I’m happy we can see the positives from our senior year,” Anthony said.

The 942 Crew supports all Sun Devil sports teams and aims to maximize the student section for each sporting event.

Zeke and Anthony said this Cinderella season has helped boost school spirit to levels they’ve never seen before, and they’re excited to see that brought to Texas.

“More people want to camp in the front row of the student section; People want to do more in terms of signaling and getting involved. We’ve had people fill the student section at a rate we haven’t seen in recent years,” Ezekiel said.

“Soccer draws a lot of eyes, so if we can see this soccer team, that will translate to our volleyball team playing today in regionals, hockey and other sports,” Anthony said.

Ezekiel and Anthony will be in Texas until Sunday morning and will return in time to finish the finals.
