Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash on Cobb County East-West Connector

A motorcyclist was seriously injured during an early morning crash on December 13 in Cobb County on the East-West Connector at its intersection with Camp Highland Road.

Cobb County Police say the crash, reported around 4 a.m., involved a gray 2016 Volkswagen Jetta and a green and black 2024 Kawasaki ZX-636 motorcycle.

According to preliminary findings from the Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit, the Volkswagen was traveling westbound on the East-West Connector while the motorcycle was heading east. The accident occurred when the motorcyclist was trying to turn left, crossing into the path of the Volkswagen. The two vehicles collided head-on.

The Volkswagen stopped in the eastbound lane, facing southwest, while the motorcycle stopped in the same lane, facing east. The motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Volkswagen was not injured.
