ALL creatures great and small were left in chaos after a BULL escaped from the set, causing the team to flee.

Channel 5’s hit period drama returns to screens tonight with its Christmas special from the Yorkshire Dales.

In addition to filming heartwarming scenes, the cast and crew of All Creatures Great and Small handle real-life animals.

During one day of filming, they were stunned when a bull attacked them on set.

Recalling the ordeal, Nicholas Ralph exclusively told The Sun: “We had a bull that weighed two tonnes. “This was like one of the previous series, but we were heading into, across a field, into another field.

“It was really muddy and rainy and everything. And the bull was coming up behind us as we all went up to start shooting for the day.

“And then we heard this kind of, do-do-do-do, something like Jurassic Park. And then we turned around and saw this two-ton bull running towards us.

“So we just parted, like it was me, the director and the cinematographer. I think we parted like the Red Sea, like two of us went in that direction, one of us went in that direction and the bull passed in a hurry”.

Nicholas, who plays the iconic James Herriot in the period drama, continued: “Andy Barrett, our vet on set, was like skimboarding alongside the bull in his wellies while holding on to the halter.

“So he was like, yeah, like water skiing next to the bull. I just broke away. And then he just stopped.

“And then everyone said, oh, wait, Andy, what happened? And he said, ‘he’s a two-tonne bull, if he wants to go running, he’ll go running.'”

Earlier this year, Channel 5 confirmed All Creatures Great and Small. he had been given a double referral.

The sixth season of the series, which is a reboot of the original ’70s show of the same name, will begin production early next year.

The Christmas special of All Creatures Great and Small airs December 23 at 9pm on Channel 5.
