Of nightmare roommate.

that’s what Ohio State football defensive end Jack Sawyer became ex horse chestnuts Texas teammate and quarterback Quinn Ewers. Sawyer not only had the Stripping bag turned into a shovel and score against Ewers to secure Ohio State’s 28-14 victory Cotton Bowl victory over Texas on Friday. Sawyer also had a pass deflected on the second attempt to set up the goal line.

Sawyer revealed after the game that Ewers, who began his career with Ohio State in 2021 before transfer to Texas in 2022 – had a good banter session with his former roommate as he walked off the field.

“He said, ‘Fuck you,’ and walked away laughing,” Sawyer said after the game in his on-field interview. “That’s my guy. Obviously, we were teammates when he was here. I have a lot of respect for him and the rest of the Texas team. They’re a great team, they won four quarters and had a great season.”

“It sucks,” Ewers said in his postgame interview about the sack. “Jack is a good player.”

Ewers finished the night completing 23 of 39 passes for 283 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for the long horns. His lost fumble and subsequent interception by Caleb Downs sealed the victory for the Buckeyes in the final two minutes.

Sawyer finished with three total tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a tackle for loss and two pass breakups. He has seven batted balls in three CFP games, with a chance to add them in the national championship game against Notre Dame on Monday, Jan. 20 from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
