Urgent search for the ‘red-eyed man’ after trying to kidnap a three-year-old girl | UK News

Police said the girl was outside a home on Leicester Street on Thursday night when a man tried to take her.

An urgent search has been launched for a “red-eyed man” after a three-year-old girl was almost kidnapped before her mother stopped him.

West Midlands Police said the girl was outside a home on Leicester Street on Thursday night when a man tried to take her.

The boy’s mother managed to intervene and officers are working to find the man.

The suspect is believed to be of mixed race, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and between 20 and 30 years old.

He has short, curly, dark hair, facial hair, and brown eyes that reportedly showed signs of redness.

DI Nicola Pestel of Wolverhampton CID added: “We understand this will come as a shock to people, and our investigation to trace and arrest the person involved is progressing apace.”

“We are asking everyone in the area to support us by coming forward with any information they may have, to check their doorbell cameras or dash cams in their cars, to see if there is footage that could assist our investigations.”

We want to speak to this man after launching an investigation into the attempted kidnapping of a three-year-old boy in Wolverhampton on Thursday night. We received a report that a man attempted to pick up and take the young woman away while she was outside a house on Leicester Street at around 5.15pm yesterday (January 9) with an elderly relative. The boy's mother stopped him and it is understood he then drove off in the direction of Harrow Street. Fortunately, the girl was not injured and we are offering support to her and her family as we work to identify and locate the person involved.
