Following a disastrous ending to the team’s 2023 campaign that ended with Jason Kelce In tears, the Eagles began a new season 2-2 and entered an early bye week processing a 33-16 road loss to Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Then, embattled Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni gave Philadelphia a scare by coming out of halftime with a skinhead.

“He’ll need a new job soon,” one fan tweeted.

“I went with the Britney Spears look,” a second fan posted. “We are so cooked.”

“Okay, it’s over,” a third fan wrote.

What followed were the classic Eagles of the Sirianni era.

A loaded team that presents Jalen hurtsMVP candidate Saquon BarkleyAJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, Quinyon MitchellJalen Carter and Darius Slay Jr. won their next 10 games to turn a flat 2-2 into a vibrant 12-2.

NFL fans were reminded that Philadelphia almost beat Kansas City in the Super Bowl in 2022, as the Eagles put all their internal tension and drama aside, until they resurfaced again when Brown seemed take photos on Hurts and the team’s passing game.

“I’m from Philadelphia. I live here in Philadelphia now, so I understand it firsthand,” NFL Network front office analyst Marc Ross told talkSPORT exclusively.

“You know all my former players that I drafted are on sports radio here, the Hugh Douglases and Ike Reese of the world. So I always love listening to them.

“So I can absorb it in a national kind of way, just laugh at all the dysfunction and the outrage of my Philly fan base here, who are absolutely incredible.

“At one point, the Sirianni ‘head shaving scandal’… I mean, that was just crazy. And ‘Get this guy out of here.’

“And then all of a sudden they kept winning and winning, and looking better and better and better.”

fall into a beating Green Bay Packers team in an NFC wild card playoff game On Sunday all the old tension and drama will immediately return.

Taking care of business against the Pack and moving two wins away from a return to the Super Bowl will have the Philadelphia faithful believing that another world championship trophy isn’t that far away.

Most NFL teams would have collapsed after being defeated 32-9 in a playoff game late in a season, then starting another campaign underperforming despite All-Pro talent.

Philadelphia is a special place and it brought out the best in the Eagles in 2024 as they enter another playoff test.

“That’s a testament that, despite the external craziness, they are a stable organization with (owner) Jeffrey Lurie,” Ross said.

“I started with the team. I worked for the Eagles starting in 1997. And he bought the team and figured out how to be one of those owners to give your opinion, but you know, stay out of the way.

“And Howie Roseman has been there for a long time; the general manager knows what he’s doing. So they have that stability to absorb all the madness.

“And then they have all that talent to absorb that as they figure it out. So, of course, they’re going to be dangerous. They were just in the Super Bowl two years ago. They were on the road last year before they fell apart because of the turmoil behind scene that occurred.

“There was a lot going on there. You know, firing both coordinators. So they had a lot of changes in the turmoil. But now that they approach it, they think, ‘This is our chance.'”
