Liverpool fans seriously worried after Arne Slot posted update on Federico Chiesa – Liverpool

Liverpool fans were left concerned after hearing manager Arne Slot’s update on Federico Chiesa, particularly after seeing his encouraging performance against Accrington Stanley.

The Italian winger signed for the Reds from Juventus in the summer, but he has only played four games for his new club.

He suffered a muscle injury after performing his first Liverpool He started in a Carabao Cup tie against West Ham and subsequently missed three months of action.

Chiesa’s last appearance was a 45-minute cameo against Southampton, also in the Carabao Cup, last month, and he has been named on the Liverpool bench in three of their last four games.

He extended that streak to four bench appearances in five games for the FA Cup third round clash against Accrington Stanley, but some Reds fans hoped he would have started the game to improve his fitness.

Instead, Slot opted to select 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha on the left side of the attack, and Chiesa once again had to settle for a place among the substitutes.

However, he appeared as a half-time substitute at Anfield and impressed the fans before scoring in the second half in a 4-0 win.

But his manager’s pre-match comments about the £12.5million signing left Reds fans worried about Chiesa’s future.

He said: “It’s not just about Federico in terms of playing time, but it’s also about others.

“We will see in the coming weeks and months if it can help us, as it will be even more intense.”

Those comments have sparked speculation that Chiesa could leave Liverpool in January, but fans are now urging Slot to keep him at Anfield after his cameo against Accrington.
