Search for three men who were wearing balaclavas when teenager was found seriously injured on Bath Street in Portobello

Police are hunting three men after a teenager was found seriously injured in Edinburgh.

The 18-year-old was discovered at around 6.40pm on Friday afternoon on Bath Street in Portobello.

Emergency services attended the scene and the teenager was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where his injuries are described as serious but not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers are now seeking to identify and trace three men believed to have been involved in the incident.

Two are described as tall, of slim build, wearing dark clothing, black balaclavas and riding dark-coloured electric bicycles.

The third is described as having a robust build and blonde hair.

Detective Inspector Dougal Begg said: “We are continuing our inquiries to establish all the circumstances and a police presence will remain in the area.

“We believe this was a targeted attack and would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information that could help us contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone with dashcam or private CCTV footage to get in touch.”
