Isak to Manchester United?

Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham believes joining the club “is still a highlight of anyone’s career”.

The former England star believes that Alexander Isak would consider leaving Newcastle for Old Trafford “without a doubt” and considers him the “perfect signing” for Rubén Amorim.

Sheringham told BoyleSports: “Manchester United remains a huge draw for any player and playing for the club remains a highlight of anyone’s career.

“Would Alexander Isak consider joining United if an offer came in? Without a doubt.

“I’m not saying a deal will be done, but he would be the perfect signing for United.

“He can lead the line and score goals and could be a flagship signing for the new regime.

“He is full of confidence right now and could lead by example.”

Kolo Muani coup?

Juventus are convinced they are leading the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Randal Kolo Muani.

According to Sky Sports, Juve are convinced they are in pole position to beat teams like Manchester United and Tottenham for the signature of Kolo Muani.

AC Milan are the other Serie A club chasing the striker during the January transfer market.

PSG is only willing to let the French international leave permanently or on loan with an obligation to purchase.

Moyes record

During his first spell at the club, Moyes took charge of over 500 matches for the club.

Although they ran out of trophies, they reached the FA Cup final in 2009 and had four European campaigns in five seasons; the Toffees have only been to Europe twice in the 10 seasons since he left.

Moyes also led the club to seven consecutive top eight finishes. Since then there have only been three.

First spell:

  • Matches: 518
  • win: 218
  • Giveaways: 139
  • Losses: 161
  • Gain%: 42.08

‘Crucial moment’

Everton chief executive Marc Watts said the return of Moyes, who has signed a contract until 2027, comes at a crucial time for the club, with the new stadium opening early next season.

He said: “We are delighted to have David join us at this crucial time in Everton’s history.

“With over a decade of experience at the club, he is the right leader to drive us through our final season at Goodison Park and into our new stadium.

“We look forward to working with David to lay the foundations for a new era for Everton.”

‘It’s great to be back!’

Moyes was in charge at Goodison Park between 2002 and 2013, before leaving for Manchester United.

He led Everton to the 2009 FA Cup final and four European campaigns.

Moyes said: “It’s fantastic to be back! I enjoyed 11 wonderful and successful years at Everton and I didn’t hesitate when I was offered the opportunity to rejoin this great club.

“I am excited to be working with The Friedkin Group and look forward to helping them rebuild the club.

“We now need Goodison and all Evertonians to play their part in supporting the players in this important season so we can move into our fabulous new stadium as a Premier League team.”
