Five people seriously injured after an accident between three cars and a lorry on the A94

Five people have been seriously injured following a crash involving four vehicles on the A94 at Perth and Kinross.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the Perth-Forfar road, near Balbeggie, at around 3.20pm on Friday.

A Mercedes Vito V220, an Audi A3, a BMW X3 and a DAF truck were involved in the accident.

The driver of the Audi, aged 53, the female passenger of the Audi, aged 51, and three passengers of the Mercedes Vito, aged 28, 52 and 57, were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment for serious injuries. .

There were no other reports of injuries.

The road was closed to allow investigations and reopened at around 1.30am on Saturday.

Sergeant Brian McEwen said: “Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident and who has not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have dash cam footage that may be able to help contact us.”
