Pregnant woman admits she is terrified for her son after her husband broke their dog’s hip

A pregnant woman expressed her fears about becoming a mother and they are not what one would expect. She is not concerned about her abilities as a mother nor is she concerned about supporting a child financially.

Rather, she is concerned about her husband’s apparent anger problems and worries that he cannot be trusted around her unborn baby.

The woman admitted she was terrified for her son after her husband broke their dog’s hip.

Sharing your concerns on RedditThe woman revealed that she is an animal lover, and has several pets including dogs, reptiles, frogs and small animals. While all of her pets are attached to her, they aren’t too interested in spending time with her husband of five years.

“I didn’t think anything of it as I primarily care for them and had most of them before we met,” the woman wrote.

However, she soon discovered the horrible truth behind why her pets weren’t attached to her husband after noticing their five-pound Chihuahua mix, Rufus, was limping.

“My husband jokingly said a few minutes before I checked on him, ‘I asked Rufus to stop scratching the door,’” the woman recalled. “I didn’t think anything of it until my poor dog couldn’t move.”

She took him to the vet where they took x-rays and discovered his hip was broken. “They said that since he was so small it could be because he jumped off the furniture and hurt himself, since he is also quite old.”

However, after returning from the vet, her husband confessed something that shook her to her core.

“My husband later admitted that he lost his temper, picked up Rufus by the scruff of his neck, and hit him,” the woman wrote.

Although her husband claimed to feel guilty and has stayed away from the animals as the woman felt hurt and incredibly worried.

“Rufus and our other dogs are terrified of him now. They hide under my feet wherever I’m sitting, or hide under the bed or in their kennel when I can’t be with them,” she added in a comment. . “I don’t want to force them to be around him or make them live in fear.”

To make matters worse, the woman discovered she was pregnant shortly after her husband hurt their dog.

I’m worried he might lose his temper. with a newborn it is much worse than Rufus’ constant scratches,” she wrote, admitting that she has not yet told her husband that she is pregnant.

Still, she said she loves her partner and doesn’t want to leave him, despite his worrying behavior. Others online; However, he urged the woman to protect herself and her unborn baby by leaving the relationship before things get worse.

“They’ve already done that… if they hurt the animals, they’ll hurt you,” one user warned. “Both I and my children are now victims of domestic violence and started with a similar situation“.

“Normal people don’t hurt animals. I’ll say it again. “Normal people don’t hurt animals, especially their older dogs,” another commenter wrote. “If you lose your temper with an older dog, imagine what it will do to a child if they cry too loud or make a mess.”

Commenters weren’t wrong to suggest that the woman leave before someone else got hurt. Your husband’s behavior toward their little dog should be enough to set off alarm bells about what kind of father he will be when your son gets on his nerves.

The next time you lose your temper, it could cause you something worse than a broken hip.

In a follow-up post, the woman revealed that she decided to leave her husband.

“Rufus is doing well and is recovering at a friend’s house with her husband, along with my other older dogs and reptiles,” she shared on a second Reddit post.

The woman explained that she sat down with her husband and had a much-needed conversation about his anger and violent behavior.

“Everything went well. He agreed to seek therapy and anger management. But when I made it clear to him that the dogs wouldn’t be coming back for a while, he got angry,” she wrote. “He felt like he was being immature and being treated like an abuser.”

He then stormed off, leaving behind his phone, which soon began to fill up with messages.

“I never felt the need to check his phone, but last night I decided to do it,” the woman admitted. “Turns out he was hooking up with his old high school sweetheart.”

The evidence of his infidelity was the last straw and the push that the woman needed to request a divorce. Fortunately, he wrote, “Rufus is always being supportive.”
