Canadian Museum of Human Rights closes for annual maintenance work

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights will temporarily close for its annual maintenance week.

The museum will be closed beginning Sunday, January 12 while staff inspect artifacts and clean exhibits throughout the space. THE CMHR will reopen to the public on Tuesday, January 21.

During the closure, museum staff will put the finishing touches on an upcoming exhibit titled “Love in Dangerous Times: Canada’s LGBT Purge.” The exhibit delves into the decades-long expulsion of LGBTQ people from the Armed Forces, RCMP and federal public service.

“Love in Dangerous Times: Canada’s LGBT Purge” premieres January 31.
