Two dead and four injured in bus accident in eastern Germany

Two people were killed and four seriously injured when a bus overturned on a snowy motorway in northeastern Germany on Saturday, police said.

The accident on the A11 highway involved a FlixBus bus traveling from Berlin to Szczecin, Poland, the company said. There were 13 passengers and a driver on board.

A large number of rescuers have rushed to the scene. Passengers were extricated from the accident through the front window, and seven people are said to have suffered minor injuries.

According to the first conclusions, no other vehicles participated.

The accident occurred at an exit that leads to a parking lot, near the intersection with Uckermark.

“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this accident and their families,” the company said. “Of course, we are working closely with local authorities and local rescue services and will do everything possible to quickly and completely clarify the cause of the accident.”
