“We smiled at each other almost every morning. Megan was not only kind, but she always made me laugh,” said her friend Ava Bellovary.

The back story

Prosecutors charged Jason Zehe, 19, with western allis with homicide by using a vehicle while intoxicated, among other crimes, in relation to the accident that killed Voss.

The multi-vehicle accident occurred at Sunset and Guthrie on December 30. A preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle was speeding on Sunset Drive, ran a stop sign and collided with two other vehicles.

At the scene of the crash, a Waukesha police officer saw a car, a pickup truck and a pickup truck. A criminal complaint noted that the car was “on the sidewalk…leaning against a stop sign” and appeared to be totaled. The front of the truck was crushed against the rear of the SUV.

Flight for Life responded and took a victim, later identified as Voss, to a hospital. He died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. The other people involved in the accident suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
