Deion Sanders says there are a couple of NFL teams he won’t let his son Shedeur play for

colorado coach Deion Sanders He issued another reminder that he will intervene if his son, quarterback Shedeur, is drafted by an NFL team he doesn’t like, saying there are “a couple of teams I won’t let him play for.”

Sanders said this in the Friday Show at Tamron Hall while promoting the new season of his documentary series “Coach Prime” debuted this week.

He did not say which teams he had in mind.

“Have you told him privately who you would like him to play for?” Hall asked Sanders on the show.

“Not so,” Sanders responded. “It’s not who I would like him to play for. Those are a couple of teams I won’t allow him to play on. So it’s not like that. But this is my profession. I know what’s behind the curtain. We don’t have to go back there for me to understand what’s behind the curtain and what’s not salient to my son. “I’m not going to do it.”

“What if he doesn’t listen to you?” -Hall asked.

“WHO?” Sanders responded, prompting an explosion of laughter from the studio audience. “WHO? No, you should be referring to the owners (of the NFL team), not my son.”

Sanders made a similar warning about this earlier, when he said that Shedeur could do “an Eli” if he didn’t like the NFL team that drafted his son – a reference to when quarterback Eli Manning refused to play for the San Diego Chargers after having been drafted by them in 2004.

This year, the Colorado quarterback is projected to be a top pick in the NFL draft in April.

He Tennessee Titans have the first choice, followed by the cleveland browns, New York Giants and New England Patriots. Shedeur Sanders said on his own podcast this week that he was “happy” with the draft order.

“Whatever happens, happens,” he said. “I know at the end of the day God will put me on the right team.”

Before playing in Alamo Bowl against BYU on December 28a pair of Giants-colored cleats were photographed near Shedeur’s locker and shown on social networks.

“He has some Tennessee shoes too,” Sanders told Hall. “And some Raiders shoes. “He has shoes of all colors.”

“You said if the right team doesn’t pick him, you will…” Hall said before Sanders finished his sentence.

“Intervene,” Sanders said.

Then he explained the reason for this.

“I’m not going to let my son fall for any nonsense,” he said.
